Robin Hood Hat Pattern
Robin Hood Cap Directions
We recommend making a newspaper template to ensure your hat is the right size. You will need a sheet of paper and felt approximately 22” x 12”.
- Draw the pattern as shown here onto folded paper, placing the 7” measurement on the fold.
- Cut the pattern out.
- Pin along two of the open sides as shown here then turn inside out.
- Fold the curved edges up along the dotted line to create two flaps.
- Try your pattern on.
- If it is too small, draw out the pattern a little large and repeat the process; if it is too big, then cut it down, re-pin and try on again.
- Once you have the correct patter, pin it to a piece of felt and cut the pattern from felt.
- Fold the felt in half placing the 7" side of the pattern on the fold.
- Trace the pattern adding ½” along all edges, except the fold.
- Stitch the two sides together (just like they were pinned before).
- Turn the hat inside out, and turn up edges.
- Tack or pin on a feather to finish off your hat as shown here.
